Kiri Kari (Estonian knitted toys)
I am sure you’ve already seen several pictures from this book on various blogs, but I can’t help myself ’cause I’m in love. My all time favorite creatures from Kiri Kari are the foxes and the piggies. So now in addition to Japanese and Swedish I need

to learn Estonian. Good luck with that… at a first glance Estonian looks like encrypted text. After another look, it looks like seriously encrypted text.

Oh, just loved the toys, I also ordered my book yesterday ! I can hardly wait to get my copy !!
Anna
Ha ha ha! I am wondering what they are thinking at Krisostomus – suddenly they are receiving an influx of international orders on one specific book. I went ahead and ordered mine yesterday – they were so on the ball in responding! Reckon it happens in their scientific textbook department too? Thank you so much for introducing us! I think this book will be good buddies with my copy of Donna Wilson’s, The Knitted Odd-Bod Bunch.

Estonian is not difficult language at all (if you are native speaker and I am :P ). Otherwise I would suggest to learn Japanese, maybe it’s a bit more easy.
And that book is absolutely amazing! In Estonian there are some more fabolous books what I would like to suggest to buy.

Il maialino é decisamente il mio preferito!!!

I saw the pigs before and was barely able to resist…but the sausage fox and mad scientist cat are just too much…
Italian Dish Knits
Oh, I love that little piggy in grays!
Alyssa
Wow! That does look like a great book. I love the detail that the colorwork adds, it’s really inspiring!
Lydia
Seriously…I’ve got to get that book. Oh, and the dolls are made with tiny seed beads and thread….there’s a project for all my free time. Estonian, eh? I bet my mother knows someone who can read Estonian….hmmm.
Lydia
Oh my God! How could you do this to me? (smacks hand to forehead) And I have another Japanese craft book (on miniature dolls made with beads, of all things) en route from Japan as I write this…and now Estonian??? This book is a “must have”. Love the owl, the kitty, oh I don’t know…everything. I so want the owl…and the kitty…
Ben
I think the layering of the “Owl” makes it look like a totem pole.
Also, I just used Google to translate your blog into Estonian. Very meta. It *does* look like krüpteeritud teksti. :)
Annie
What fleegle said. Stop it Francesca, I keep *having* to spend money on your recommendation!
Seriously, what a brilliant book, thank you for sharing :)

Wow, this is the first I’ve heard of that book! I must buy it ASAP.

Off to buy the book. Thanks for the giggle and link!
