A man and his scarf
Riva (Italian for shore, because of the gentle waves in the patterned sections) is finished, and Ben was good enough to model for the camera. This is a good stash buster project that can be knit from small quantities of yarn in different colors, although in my case the yarn wasn’t left over from other projects and I was just playing around with my beloved Holst Garn Supersoft. The edges roll more than I intended so if I were to knit this again, I would keep both outer segments short. I do like how it turned out. Maybe Ben will even wear it for real next winter. :) A peek at the wrong side. Ready to be put away until next year, or until we move somewhereInvesting totally cheap. That scarf is so stylish and striking (just like your model). If I’d knitted something as wonderful as that, though, I’d keep it for myself…

Perfect! Great pattern, and it looks very manly on him. Even MY husband, who won’t wear much of anything that’s not plain colored and blue, might like that one.

I am SOOOO happy that you’re back to blogging. Your blog was always in my top 5 favorites. I’ll be catching up on the previous entries and checking in for all future ones. I’m afraid that I’ve lost your email address, so responded here.
The scarf looks wonderful, by the way!

Hi there! I’m so pleased that you’re back! I’m looking forward to reading your posts – but no pressure. I’m not posting as much as I used to either. It’s good to take a break sometimes.
Love Ben’s scarf. I like that shot of lime green.

This is really beautiful. Did you use a pattern or did you just knit away?

Thank you, Elaine. I made up the pattern as I went; had an idea to start with and then made some modifications.

Handsome – goes for both the scarf and Ben, of course! Love details like the green stripe. The scarf does look super soft too.
