Mail love
Another good mail day. Today I received something unexpected and wonderful from my friend Andrea who moved to Maryland last October. She has been taking a letterpress printing class and sent me two beautiful hand printed pieces. One is an image of a kitty (is that Mama cat?) and the other a calendar page for April with a quote from Robert Frost.
Grazie, Andrea!
And if that wasn't enough, I also received two books I had ordered last week: Simple Sewing with a French Twist and Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing. Let's see if it's really that simple.

It's great when the mail brings lovely surprises - especially handmade ones.

yay! i was so worried about the envelopes - i made them from kraft paper so the calendar would fit perfectly, but you never know how the post office is going to treat irregular sizes. anyhow, so glad you like my little gift. i'm hoping to do more such gifts, but knowing my schedule, it'll be months and months from now. ;)
and that's trouble, not mamacat. oh and handmade paper too! .. wish i could have gone to that fiber meeting with you.. ah well. ciao!

I guess you must know Julia? She also received some lovely prints and posted pictures I see...Your newest project is very interesting. I would also think the fabric knit from steel yarn would be malleable!
