Crab knitting
My knitting has been going the same way as crabs go, two steps forward and three steps backwards, or thereabout. I did manage to finish the body of the scarf, though, and got started on the border. BTW, thank you for all your lovely comments and well wishes. Things are better and if we get the heating going again, they'll be better still. :) I'm getting rather philosophical about all the house shit that's been happening lately and I am trying real hard to concentrate on the stuff that's going well.
So here's a few snapshots of the lace scarf with border in progress.
After I laid it all out for the photo shoot, I found a tiny boo-boo in the body that I hadn't noticed before. Oh well. Too late.
Based on my daily progress, I expect to be done with the border in three weeks. Not a speedy knitter, I am afraid.
I am really looking forward to wearing this little scarf.

Wow... I just love the yellow Habu yarn in that pattern. I may have to look at that scarf again in the book. It is really turning out beautiful.
Have a great weekend.

Wait... I think crabs go sideways... which, I guess, means you're on the border. Pardon me. I think I'm clever but the rest of the world thinks I'm nuts. ;-)

Stai procedendo molto bene con questo bellissimo scialle giallo. Mi piace moltissimo e non vedo il momento di vederlo pronto.

It's looking fabulous--I love that happy yellow. :) And I don't think anybody can claim to be speedy on those edgings...

I told you that I was still getting caught up! *L*
How do you like the Habu cashmere? We have Habu in the shop I teach at, but no cashmere. I think I might see some in Atlanta next week, however, and I can always be tempted by fine fibers! Is it worth indulging?

Joanne - It is a lovely cashmere. I found it slightly less enjoyable to knit with than Jade Sapphire for instance, because it's thinner and I didn't have Addi Lace needles at the time so knitting on the Addi Turbo meant a lot of slipperiness and struggling to keep my stitches on the needles. I would probably feel differently now if I were to knit it on Addi Lace or wooden circulars.
Habu cashmere blooms only after washing and then it is truly wonderful. FYI, by the yard it is much more expensive than other cashmeres. I am putting together a list of lace yarns I've used or plan to try, comparing various measurements and relative costs and I was amazed at the difference in price.
