Wool Peddler shawl

Three days after washing, the sheep odor has subsided almost entirely (stress on the almost). I am pretty sure that by now 99.9% of people would not notice anything. Me, I am cursed with a finely tuned sense of smell; and a curse it is, most of the time anyway.

But the color is pretty, me thinks.

I grabbed Ben for some pictures and we borrowed the neighbor's garden again, this time with his permission. I didn't realize that I was partially in the shade and the color gradation doesn't read too clearly in the photos. For a better read on that, I am adding a WIP photo below.

The shawl came out slightly smaller than I had expected. I got so used to my Wing o' the Moth shawls that now everything else seems small by comparison.

Hey, three FOs in one month! This has to be a record for me.

Oh, wait, the details…

It looks like summer where you are! All that sunshine and greenery...

The shawl is lovely. That's a pattern I've been thinking about for a long time. I like the two-toned effect you got with that intriguing (if pungent) yarn.

That is just gorgeous! You are inspiring me to make a shawl (just in time for spring to come, ha, ha) (wait, you live in L.A., where it's always spring!)

Anyway, it's beautiful. And I don't smell a thing.

:)

I am sure my husband would smell that ... he has a lot sharper senses than me! For me, I like my shawls to be huge too ... it just feels so cozy snuggling with you huge shawls! But the colours of the shawl is so beautiful!

It's beautiful! I am sorry it smells funny still. I know I had to trade away some sock yarn that was shipped with a lavender sachet. I washed it four times and could still smell it, so I sympathize. Wish there were a magic spell for odiferous yarn!

I can't blame you. I don't like small shawls either. It's not like I'm wearing them every day, actually I'm more like a jeans and t-shirt type, but I sure like to knit them. I'm almost done with one now and I hope it will stetch bigger too. Now where did I put my Fold Shawls book again? Can't find it for some reason.

So pretty! I may add that shawl to my list.

Very pretty! Actually makes me really want to try out the yarn :) Congrats on the finish. 3 in a month is wicked good.

It is lovely if a bit sheepish! I'm not a fan of smelly stuff myself.

so very, very pretty! now i want one too!

The shawl looks very warm, and the colour graduation is beautiful. Your neighbor's garden is beautiful too.

So many FO's, attractive ones at that, in such a short time! You have been hibernating way too much, we need to get you out!
:-)

wow, the color gradation is stunning, works beautifully with the stitch patterning on the shawl! just lovely.

smelly shawl is not good though... would a vinegar soak help? is one allowed to do a baking soda soak on wool?

The shawl is beautiful. Sorry about the smell. I am like you, very acute sense of smell. I smell the coffee when it is ready from upstairs and my husband is in the kitchen and hasn't noticed. It is good for some things but not for others. Can you use something to mask the smell.Something you like the smell of? Good luck with getting rid of the smell.

I love the shawl! I have folk shawls too, and the wool peddler is my favorite, it makes me think of being...well...a wool peddler in medieval times :) It looks gorgeous and beautiful on you!

What, another gorgeous shawl?! The color gradiation produces such a lovely effect.

Whatever it smells like, it looks beautiful! I have the Wool Peddler in my to-do list as well. I've looked at the completed shawls on Ravelry, and there are a lot of size differences. I can't find much about the weight of the yarn you used. Is it fingering or DK?

That shawl is so beautiful and the colours look lovely on you.

I really can not believe how beautiful this ended up being. The other colours the yarn is available in are absolutely beautiful as well. Now I am on a search for someone that has the yarn
